Ricordo quei giorni lontani, quando tenendomi
per mano mi accompagnasti al mare.
Avrei voluto che il sole non tramontasse mai,
avrei voluto fermare il tempo, trattenerti a lungo con me…..

Ricordi che il tempo ha sfumato al pari dei sogni ma
che trattengono ancora tutta la loro emozione!
 E ancora mi commuovo quando ripenso alla tua infinita pazienza,
 alla saggezza dei tuoi pensieri, alla magia dei tuoi gesti!

 Il mondo era un pianeta inesplorato,
 colmo di meraviglie e di tesori nascosti!
Ogni oggetto, ogni dettaglio, apparentemente insignificante,
nelle tue mani si animava e svelava la sua anima!

Mi insegnasti  il valore della vita custodita in ogni essere vivente,
 dal filo d’erba al cucciolo appena nato.
Dicevi che la vita è un magico viaggio
alla scoperta di se stessi e di tutto ciò che ci circonda.

 Quando guardo i tuoi occhi e ti stringo fra le braccia
 trattengo a stento le lacrime e ringrazio Dio per averti scelto per me!
 Ora il mare porterà sempre  il tuo volto papà, il tuo sorriso, la tua forza!

Mi ci reco per poter rivivere quei giorni,
sentire il calore della tua mano che stringeva la mia!
Sentire il tuo sorriso che cavalcava le onde,
vedere i tuoi capelli lottare con il vento e rivivere
quella mia felicità assoluta e irripetibile!

Osservo il mare, mi lascio trascinare dalla sua magia e dal suo incanto,
 chiudo gli occhi e una muta preghiera sale fino al Cielo per ringraziare
il Signore di avermi affidato ad un padre meraviglioso quale tu sei!

Letter to my father

I remember those days when holding my hand you took me to the sea.
I wished that the sun would never set,
I wanted to stop time and keep you there with me ...

Remember how time made dreams vanish but how they still retained all their emotion!
And I still get emotional when I think back at your endless patience,
the wisdom of your thoughts and the magic of your gestures!

The world was an unexplored planet,
full of wonders and hidden treasures!
Every object, every detail, apparently insignificant,
in your hands became animated and revealed its soul!

You taught me the value of life preserved in all living things,
from the blade of grass to the newborn puppy.
You said that life is a magical journey
the discovery of ourselves and everything around us.

When I look at your eyes and I hold you in my arms
I hold back the tears and thank God for choosing you for me.
Now the sea will always have your face dad, your smile, and your strength!

I go there to relive those days
feel the warmth of your hand holding mine!
Feel your smile that rode the waves,
see your hair blowing in the wind and live
that complete and unique happiness once again!

I Watch the sea and I let myself be carried away by its magic and its charm,
I close my eyes and a silent prayer rises up to heaven to thank
the Lord for giving to me such a wonderful father!

Caro papà, ora sono padre di un figlio meraviglioso! Mi auguro di avere la tua stessa tenerezza, la tua stessa forza, il tuo stesso entusiasmo!     Quando guardo i suoi occhi, color del cielo,  quando sento la sua manina fiduciosa nella mia, ripenso a quanto io sia stato fortunato!     Ho appreso da te la capacità di amare, l'audacia di saper osare, la magia di saper volare!     La vita avrà per lui un cuore di cristallo, lo stesso in cui io mi sono riflesso quando mi conducevi alla sua scoperta!     Oggi sono ancora più fiero di essere tuo figlio,  oggi ho scoperto il miracolo di essere padre!     La mia inesperienza sarà compensata dalla tua saggezza,  la mia irruenza troverà un freno nella tua pazienza,  le mie lacrime troveranno conforto nella tua tenerezza!       Aster
